WHAT IS IT?
This is a two position, three way normally closed solenoid valve rated for 4000 psi. It uses metal-to-metal dual poppet and seat design with a maximum leakage of 20 cc/min. The solenoid assembly contains two redundant coils, providing full operating capability with either coil.
This design is configured as a cartridge or plug-in type. Pad or line mounted designs are also available. Individual pigtail leads for each coil exit the solenoid on the mounting surface, although an electrical connector could be used on this same surface.
The coil is encapsulated and the shell removable, facilitating field replacement of the coil without violating the integrity of the hydraulic circuit.
The all-stainless steel welded core assembly forms the pressure vessel. All other wetted surfaces are also stainless. The design uses two mutually opposed seats and two spherical balls. Static seals are compatible with MIL-H-83282. The dry weight of the valve is 0.6 lb.. |

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Supply pressure at 4000 psi is introduced at the inserted end of the cartridge body. In the de-energized mode pressure seats one of the captive balls causing the pressure port to be blocked, and cylinder to be open to return. When energized, the return port is blocked and pressure is open to cylinder. The valve will flow 0.25 gpm at 200 psid from pressure to cylinder and 100 psi from cylinder to return.
The valve will operate when either coil is energized at 16 VDC at 275 degrees F. The coil will stop holding the valve in the open position (drop out) below 11 VDC and before the voltage drops to 3 VDC on either coil, with only one coil energized.
The maximum drop out time is 30 msec, and maximum pickup time is 50 msec, providing a responsive performance envelope.
Coil temperature will stabilize at 225 degrees F with 28 VDC to both coils in 110 degrees F ambient still air. |
